MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In these difficult times, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is still a tool for the community to come forward and say what you know while remaining anonymous.
In fact, during the Safer at Home order, it's equally as important to let authorities know about crime in your neighborhood -- including whether or not people are following the rules.
Milwaukee police are now able to give out citations with $500 fines for people and businesses not following the order in any part of the city.
"Crime Stoppers is extremely important... and it's also an extremely important tool for the Milwaukee Police Department," Milwaukee Police Sgt. Sheronda Grant said. "If individuals who are out or at home who may see some crime occurring, or something to that effect, that they call Crime Stoppers and give that information over to one of the individuals who answers the hotline. They're able to give that information over to us which will assist us in solving crimes."
Contact Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS. You can also submit a tip to the P3 app in the app store. Your identity is always anonymous and you could get a reward if your tip leads to an arrest.
