MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wednesday, Sept. 25, is Read Across Milwaukee Day, and Mayor Cavalier Johnson was one of several city leaders who spent time reading to kids in a classroom.
It's part of National Literacy Month, encouraging children to read.
The mayor stopped at the Central City Cyber School on the north side. He not only read to the kids, but he answered a few of their questions.
The kids presented a portrait to Mayor Johnson, and he promised to put it in his office.
He also invited them to come to City Hall for a tour.
