Waukesha DPW closes portion of County Highway E due to box culvert failure

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha Department of Public Works has closed a portion of County Highway E due to a box culvert failure. 

Pictures from the DPW shows a portion of the roadway falling in toward the Oconomowoc River. 

The DPW says County Highway E is being closed to through traffic between County Highway Q and County Highway VV. 

Barricades are being put in place, and the road will remain closed to through traffic for safety reasons. 

Repair work is being evaluated. 

The DPW is asking citizens to use alternate routes and follow posted barricades and signage.
