Milwaukee Man Commits Four Armed Robberies in 2 Hours including a Shooting and Carjacking
A 22-year-old Milwaukee man is recovering from a gunshot wound he received early this morning during an armed robbery of a business near 49th and S. Howell Avenue. According to Milwaukee Police an armed man entered a business around 3:15 AM and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect then shot the victim and fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
Police investigators believe this robbery is related to three other robberies that occurred earlier in the morning. At 1:20 AM an armed man entered a business in the 2500 block of S. 6th Street. The robber demanded money from the till and then fled on foot. About 15 minutes later an armed individual entered a business in the 2000 block of S. 8th Street and demanded money. After receiving cash from the till, the suspect fled on foot. Around 2:10 AM the man escalated to a carjacking. He approached a 28-year-old Milwaukee man in the 700 block of S. 34th Street and at gunpoint, demanded the keys to his car. The suspect then drove off with the victim’s 2002 Isuzu Axiom.
All four incidents are under investigation and police believe they all may be the work of the same gunman.
