OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 34-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged in connection with a fatal wrong-way crash that left two people dead, and another seriously hurt on I-43 near Port Washington.
Ace Vue faces two counts of first-degree reckless homicide and one count of first degree reckless injury.
The crash happened Monday, May 26, near Jay Road on I-43.
According to a criminal complaint, several 911 calls were made reporting a vehicle described as a red sedan was driving erratically by swerving and speeding.
A wrong-way crash was then reported just before 12:37 a.m. in Port Washington.
Two people from Oostburg were killed in the crash, 56-year-old Jay Horne and 51-year-old Nicole Horne. A 22-year-old woman, identified by officials as Allissa Horne, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Vue needed to be extricated from his vehicle, according to officials, and then transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.
The complaint says cameras recorded Vue's vehicle traveling at speeds that at times exceeded 100 mph. Immediately before striking the oncoming vehicle, officials say Vue was traveling 92 mph.
The sheriff's office says Vue was taken into custody at his residence in South Milwaukee Monday after being released from the hospital over the weekend.
