NOW: Milwaukee finally hit 80 degrees for the first time in September but overall the month has been cool
NEXT:

Over last weekend we finally saw average and even above average high temperatures return to southeast Wisconsin and we have stayed above average since then with highs in the mid to upper 70s and finally now an 80 degree day. The high in Milwaukee reached 80 degrees exactly on Wednesday for our first day in the 80s this month. We were still warmer inland in the low to middle 80s since we had a lake breeze kick in during the afternoon hours.

That 80 was the first one in a September month that usually sees seven days in the 80s during the month. So we are really lacking on warmth for the month. It was our first 80 degree day since August 22nd, 26 days ago.

Even though temperatures have been a bit milder over the last five days it doesn't completely reverse the cool air the month started with when we had lows in the upper 30s in some areas and has barely in the 60s. Overall the month of September is sitting with an average temperature of 63.2 degrees through the first 17 days which is over four degrees below average and currently tied for the 40th coolest start to September on record.

But our mild stretch of weather will continue. Highs on Thursday could reach the upper 70s or make a run at 80 degrees for the second day in a row. Even the 74s for highs on Friday and Saturday would be just a bit above average. Every day in the current 7-day forecast is expected to be right at average or even above it.
