Milwaukee family pleads for help after man is critically injured by hit-and-run driver

A local family is now making a public plea for help after a hit-and-run that left a 52 year-old Milwaukee man badly injured last week.

Sherel Washington said her uncle, John Lee, was hit by a car Friday evening and the driver didn't stop.

She said he was crossing West Hopkins Street to go to the bus stop when he was hit. The driver was going southbound on Hopkins, turned right on Lancaster Avenue and hit her uncle.

\"How can you do that? How can you run over a human being and just keep going?\" said Washington.

She said no one has been able to provide a car description.

\"I'm just asking anybody, anybody. I don't care if you were driving past, I don't care if you were on the bus or if you were walking to the store. If you know something, can you please just let us know?\" said Washington.

He is currently in critical condition at Froedtert Hospital.
