MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) – Authorities from the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and the Wauwatosa Fire Department saved an overdose victim on the highway Friday afternoon.
Authorities say around 2:15 p.m., they were called to Interstate 41 near the Interstate 94 westbound ramp to Highway 100 for a person who wasn't breathing.
When they got to the scene, a car was pulled over in the right distress lane.
A deputy checked on the 45-year-old female passenger who wasn't breathing. He then administered Narcan. Deputies gave her a second dose but she remained unresponsive. Authorities then started CPR. After a third dose of Narcan, the victim became responsive.
Deputies found drug paraphernalia in the car along with oxycodone pills. The victim admitted to snorting $100 worth of powdered heroin.
