A mild first half of 2026 continues with some heat the next week

NOW: A mild first half of 2026 continues with some heat the next week
NEXT:

We are now halfway through the year! The end of June marked six months through 2026. Overall, it has been a mild year so far with the average temperature currently sitting tied for the 17th warmest start to a year on record in Milwaukee. The year started off chilly in January but then February, March and April were all pretty mild. After that May and June have been a little cool.

After the heat to start July we have been a bit cooler than average to start this week with a lake breeze. We still have some lake influence Tuesday but highs may still reach the low 80s lakeside and middle 80s inland. Wednesday is the one hot day this week with highs around 90 then a cold front and subsequent lake breeze drop us closer to 80 for the end of the week.

Humidity levels stay reasonable Tuesday with dew points in the upper 50s. But the muggy air quickly returns for Wednesday and Thursday with dew points in the mid 60s Wednesday and upper 60s on Thursday feeling borderline tropical.

Another round of heat looks to move in for the start of next week with multiple days in a row with highs in the 90s, similar to last week. Download the CBS 58 Weather app to see that heat.
