Milwaukee airport prepares for a busy holiday travel week
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County unveiled a new program Monday morning.
The MKE Corporate Recognition Program honors corporations in the area who are supporting and growing the local economy.
Fiserv was the first corporation recognized. County Executive Chris Abele made the announcement at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. The program will honor one major employer each quarter.
During that time, employees will receive discounts on parking, shopping and dining at the airport. There will also be signs around the building honoring the company.
"Their [corporations] volume increases our overall volume and the way this airport and any airport adds more direct flights and adds more frequent flights is when the carriers, the airlines say hey, you've got a lot of volume flying out of Milwaukee," Abele said.
The employers will be picked by the airport.
