Updated: Sunday, February 4th 10:00pm:

The Freezing Fog Advisory has been expanded to include Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Waukesha, and Walworth counties until noon Monday.

Very dense fog is taking over the lakefront, and this fog will expand inland as the night progresses.

Temps are already at or below freezing in most of SE WI, which will allow the supercooled water droplets in the fog to freeze on contact with pavement.

This could lead to black ice Monday morning.

Updated: Sunday February 4th 6:30pm:

Freezing fog is quickly developing in Sheboygan & Ozaukee Co. where a Freezing Fog Advisory is now in effect until Noon Monday. This may be expanded to include more counties as the night goes on. Once pavement temps cool, freezing fog will lead to black ice on untreated surfaces. This threat will continue into the Monday morning commute.

It was so nice to see sunshine today, but that pesky northeast wind kept temperatures in check lakeside. Most of SE WI topped out in the upper 30s to mid 40s but look at the Northwoods warming into the low 50s today!

Milwaukee will have a good chance at its first 50° day of the year this week. Highs Wednesday - Friday will likely top out in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Over the last 30 years, Milwaukee has on average, experienced its first 50 of the year on January 26th.

Despite the warmth during the second half of the week, it won't be sunny. A low pressure system and its breezy southerly winds will usher in the warm air, clouds, and scattered showers Thursday into early Friday. I wouldn't be shocked if there were a couple rumbles of thunder Thursday night!

Before the warmth and rain arrive, we'll have to deal with some freezing fog overnight. Freezing fog may be locally dense at times, which may cause slick spots on untreated pavement Monday morning!
