Mental health escapee taken into custody in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC—A man who escaped from the Mendota Mental Health facility in Madison has been taken into custody in Fond du Lac.

Authorities arrested Graham Stowe around 9:30 p.m. Saturday during a high risk traffic stop in the area of Forest Ave and Brooke Street.

Stowe had escaped on July 2 after officials said he climbed a fence and ran into the woods.

They had been looking for him in the Green Bay area ever since.

He was committed in 2004 and then recommitted in 2009.

In 2004, Stowe broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house and tied up her along with her brother and father and doused them in gasoline and threatened to set them on fire.

A second person who was in the car with Stowe was also taken into custody.
