Mild and windy most of this week with another big storm system
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County Transit System is rolling out a new way to collect fares.
The system is coming out in stages and Tuesday's first stage is a new mobile phone app called WisGo and it's powered by Umo.
This new app will allow you to plan your bus trip, to pay your fare and while you're waiting at a bus stop, you'll be able to find out where your bus is and how long it will take to reach you.
"You can track the buses and if you're looking at your screen, any of the buses that are green are accurate down to really a few seconds," said Kristina Hoffman, MCTS director of marketing and communication.
The new app comes with two changes in the bus fares. You can buy a 105-minute fare for $2 or you can buy a 24-hour fare for $5. Any transfers are included in the fare price.
The transit system says there are more changes coming this fall.
