Last push for charitable Christmas donations

Local charities said that they are still short of their holiday goals.

The Salvation Army said they are $1.7 million short of their overall donations goal of $3.8 million.

At Candy Cane Lane, which benefits the MACC Fund, they still need $20,000 to reach their goal of $100,000.

According to the Salvation Army, the money raised from the Red Kettle campaign and other donations contributes to many of their most important programs and events.

The MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.) is dedicated to funding childhood cancer and related blood disorder research.

Both organizations said the money they need to meet their goals is integral to their success in helping others.

You can donate to the MACC fund at Candy Cane Lane until Friday the 26th or anytime Herehttp://www.maccfund.org/

The Red Kettle campaign ended on Christmas Eve, but the Salvation Army is taking donations until the end of January.
