Lake Delton Police determine attempted abduction post at Outlets at the Dells is a hoax

LAKE DELTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Lake Delton Police say a post about an attempted abduction of a woman at the Outlets at the Dells is a hoax.

The post from December 21 contained information about a car, license plate and description of a possible suspect. Once police received the information they determined that the license plate was not associated with any vehicle. The woman who posted about the attempted abduction never contacted police and police were unable to determine who the woman was.

Police determined that the Facebook post was a hoax, but they will investigate further if they get new information.
