BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- There are number of events happening in October as part of breast cancer awareness month. One on Wednesday brought smiles to the faces of breast cancer survivors as they were able to have a shopping spree at a local Kohl's store.
Women were able to pick out anything they want from the store.
Kohl's gifted all 30 breast cancer survivors a $250 gift card. Komen Wisconsin selected the women, some of them major fundraisers themselves.
Julie Hahn is a survivor who says she's raised about $30,000 for breast cancer research and care over the last five years.
She called the event a celebration of life.
"This feels totally awesome today. I mean to be able to focus on yourself and get the shopping spree. You can run around Kohl's and pick out whatever you want. It's truly amazing," says Hahn.
The event was also an opportunity for the women to connect with other breast cancer survivors.
