CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) – A local bakery owner is giving back once again.
On Wednesday, Jen’s Sweets Treats in Cudahy held a fundraiser for the families of two fallen officers.
The bakery is donating all of its proceeds from the day to Racine Police officer John Hetland and Milwaukee Police officer Kou Her’s families. The two officers were killed within hours of one another while off-duty.
Besides the Jen’s Sweet Treats owner, Jennifer Clark and her daughter, everyone working on Wednesday was a volunteer.
“I’ve seen the devastation of what happens to families when the officers get injured or fall in the line of duty,” Volunteer and retired police officer John Krahn said. “It’s horrific, and this doesn’t fix it, but we’re doing what we can to try to help them out.”
The bakery and brat fry sale is being held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
