‘It’s gonna be magical’: Brewers fans gearing up for World Series parade
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — One night after the Brewers won the first World Series championship in team history, fans are getting ready for the World Series parade.
The parade is Friday morning, but fans are already eyeing their spots Thursday night.
“Trying to soak it all in, trying to beat the crowd. You see there’s people already here across the street,” Brewers fan Miguel Rosas said. “You’re lucky I’m not spending the night out here in the parking lot or something.”
Jamie Minnick and her son planted their chairs on E. Chicago St. ahead of Friday’s parade.
“He wanted to get here at midnight, so I figured let's try putting the chairs out so I don't have to be here at midnight,” Minnick said. “We’ll still be here at what, four?”
Joe and Sarah Pounders live close by and saw people setting up early, so they decided to do the same.
“I have no idea when to get here. Not sure if people are gonna be camping out overnight, but gonna try to get a spot and try to get inside and celebrate,” Joe Pounders said.
However early the fans get lined up, thousands are expected to be at the parade.
“It’s gonna be packed,” Brewers fan Richard Alva said. “It’s gonna be wild, man. It’s gonna be awesome. I can’t wait.”
