Intense training to save lives
Milwaukee - The former Edison Middle School in Milwaukee has been transformed into a training facility. Both police and fire departments are working together to be prepared in the worst situations. Tragedies like the Sikh Temple shooting in Oak Creek or the Azana Salon mass shooting in Brookfield have raised the bar to change life saving techniques.
The goal is to get EMTS with the fire department into dangerous situations in order to treat victims quicker. This training is to make sure emergency responders will be safe as they treat victims. The training will continue through May. Approximately 800 firefighters in Milwaukee will be trained, and the vast majority of the Police Department will be trained as well.
