'I just reacted': Man saved by store employees in central Wisconsin
CENTRAL WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- One man has a story most don't survive to tell - 73-year-old Jim Kreuger was shopping at a Farm and Fleet Store when he suffered a heart attack. Known as the widow maker.
"I collapsed; over dead I suppose you would say. And that's the last thing I remember," said Krueger.
Luckily for Kreuger, two store employees were at the right place at the right time.
Noticing trouble, one employee started CPR while the other grabbed the store's AED machine.
And their quick action was no fluke.
The store requires their managers to become CPR certified. Training that paid off in a big way.
"I just reacted," said Store Manager Jack Adams. "I didn't think about it, I just reacted, and I feel very good that I was able to react like that."
"I owe my life to these people," said Kreuger. "I wouldn't be here."
After months of rehab, Kreuger is well on his way to a full recovery and is back to living his normal life.
He says he's forever grateful - crediting his second chance at life to the quick-acting employees.
