I-41 closed Thursday morning to detain five people in stolen car

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two Washington County Sheriff's deputies were returning from a prisoner escort early Thursday morning around 12:30 when a car swerved into their lane on I-41 near County Highway K in Addison.

The deputies checked the plate and determined the car was stolen from Menasha a few days ago.

With the assistance of Slinger Police the deputies stopped the car closed the freeway for about ten minutes to arrest the five people in the car.

The arrested driver was a 16-year-old from Menasha who knew the car was stolen. A 17-year-old from Green Bay was arrested for admitting to stealing the car. Three other passengers from 16 to 18-years-old were released.
