Scattered showers and a few storms on a warm and windy Tuesday
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It is only the start of spring, but some local leaders already have their eyes set on summer.
Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Milwaukee Superintendent Brenda Cassellius launched the city's "Hello Summer" initiative on Monday, March 23, at North Division High School.
It's a program aimed at connecting youth to positive resources the city has to offer, such as jobs and summer camps.
Johnson grew up in Milwaukee and said having positive summers helped pave the way for his career.
"Summers that shaped me were the ones where I had somewhere to go, I had something to do, I had a job, I had something I was working towards and had people who were investing in me those experiences opened door and changed what I thought was possible for me and my life," Johnson said.
