WAUPUN (CBS 58) -- You hear and see them, but seldom are you able to get close to them. However, this weekend at Marsh Haven Nature Center near Waupun you can do a little bonding with Wisconsin wild birds of prey, like hawks or owls. These are education raptors and cannot be returned to the wild due to a variety of permanent injuries. And even though their functionality is less than it used to be, they still provide a very valuable lesson for all of us.
Those running the program stress the birds are not to be petted. They still are wild. You can see the "Wild Birds of Prey" exhibit this Saturday at 3 pm or Sunday at 1 pm. The Marsh Haven Nature Center is off State Road 49, just three miles east of Waupun itself.
