Hartford Firefighters Fight Brush Fire Over the Weekend

The Hartford Fire Department is putting out a warning to citizens after it dealt with a brush fire over the weekend. On Saturday, March 11 temperatures were warm and the wind was breezy. A brush fire was burning and not monitored closely when sparks traveled to a nearby field.

Firefighters spend over an hour trying to control the 5 or 6 acres that burned in an industrial park in Hartford.

Although burning brush piles and yard clippings is legal in some communities, it only takes a minute for the fire to get out of control and the wind can make it worse.
