Hartford bus with 25 kids crashes into parked car; driver impaired

HARTFORD -- Hartford police responded to a bus vs. parked car accident on the 600 block of Cedar St. around 7:54 a.m. Investigators say the parked car was unoccupied at the time of the accident, but the bus was carrying 25 children. No students reported any major injuries.

Police say the bus driver, a 68-year-old Hartford woman, was impaired by a substance other than alcohol at the time of the accident. She's been arrested for Operating While Intoxicated with passengers under the age of 16.

Hartford School District officials say this was not a school bus, it was a city bus. 

The Hartford Police Department has referred this case to the Washington County District Attorney's Office.
