Gunshot fired near Racine Horlick High School

RACINE -- Racine Horlick High School was temporarily put on lockdown after a gun shot was fired across the street from the school. 


According to police, officers responded to reports of a large group fight across the street from Horlick High School around 10:05 a.m. Police say one gunshot was fired during this fight.


Students were let out of school about an hour after this shooting. The district says Horlick High School was already scheduled for an early release. Police were on hand to ensure the safety of students leaving the school.


The scheduled varsity football game will still begin at 7:00 p.m. The school says there will be an enhanced police presence.


No one was injured by the gunshot, and no suspects have been arrested by Racine police.
