Girlfriend Stabs Boyfriend While Being in a Chokehold

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (KPHO/KTVK) -A Arizona woman locked in a chokehold managed to grab a knife and stab the perpetrator – her boyfriend, Scottsdale police said.

The man ran out of the apartment and was located down the street just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers said.

He was taken to the hospital with a stab wound to his upper arm and was in serious condition. Once he is released, he’ll be arrested. The man’s injuries didn’t appear life-threatening, police said.

Officers said it was a case of self-defense and the woman was not taken into custody.

As the investigation unfolded, police learned that the man attempted to strangle the woman several times during altercations throughout the night, according to Scottsdale Police spokesman Kevin Watts.
