MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Freshwater For Life Action Coalition is calling out the City of Milwaukee for its lack of response to the city's lead water crisis.
A report issued Thursday by the State Department of Health found Milwaukee's Health Department violated state statutes by not having set policies and procedures relating to lead.
The report also found the Health Department closed cases before children's lead levels returned to normal. The coalition says the report is nothing new, but it's disappointed with the inaction at city hall.
“Have you located the children that have not been given these services? Have you given the children who have been left in the shadows the support they need in order to be healed from this neglect,” said spokesperson Robert Miranda.
