MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- "Repairing Together" is a program that brings students from different backgrounds together, creating lasting friendships along the way.
This year, the kids visited local museums and learned more about their own culture.
Then they brought their findings back to the Milwaukee Jewish Day School to tell each other about their own stories.
It's a small example on why no matter where you are from, uplifting one another helps build a stronger community.
"I think a program like this does a lot in terms of helping people to come together helping to unite us a little bit makes us realize we are all the same, we all have similar things, we all want to have a good happy life. So, hopefully if we can start at a young age it can transfer to many years down the road," said Bobby Ehrlich, educator coordinator with Repairing Together.
The students have met every year since Kindergarten and will continue until eighth grade.
