Milwaukee fourth graders plant trees for Arbor Day

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A park on Milwaukee's south side is now a little greener.

Fourth graders from the Zablocki Community School helped plant trees at the Ohio Playfield near 10th and Ohio. It's part of Milwaukee's Arbor Day celebration.

The tree planting is something Mayor Tom Barrett says these students will remember forever.

"You'll drive down here when you're 16, 26, 36, and someday you'll say to your kid, I helped plant those trees. That's how important what we're doing today is," Mayor Barrett said.

The tree planting on Friday was one of 15 Arbor Day events held across Milwaukee.
