WOODMAN TOWNSHIP, Wis. (WISC) -- The Grant County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident, resulting in the death of a 4-year-old child.

According to a release, 45-year-old Jason Wachter of Woodman was driving on Highway C, approaching the intersection of Highway 133, around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Four-year-old Kage Wachter was sitting next to the passenger door, when it opened, and he fell out. Kage was hit by the rear tires, and became unresponsive.

Jason, along with a passerby, attempted lifesaving measures, before emergency responders arrived, but Kage could not be revived.

The investigation is still ongoing.

This is the second motor vehicle death in Grant County this year.
