Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Midnight
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- No one was hurt during a house fire Friday evening.
It happened near 53rd and Portage on the city's northside.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly but as always with fires like this, the cold is the biggest challenge.
"It zaps the heat from right out of you. Your hat gets wet and your coat gets wet. You come out of the building which is a very humid environment which is because we are spraying water and your face freezes, your regulators freeze. So we always have that challenge when we fight a fire in conditions where the weather is below freezing," Battalion Chief Dan Lipski said.
The Fire Department says the fire caused over $100,000 in damage.
