MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The father of a 9-year-old accidentally shot and killed by her brother made his initial court appearance in Milwaukee Wednesday morning.
32-year-old Marcel Jelks is facing several charges including child neglect resulting in death.
His daughter, 9-year-old Miyanna Jelks was fatally shot while home alone with her siblings on Saturday.
The girl’s mother is also facing charges. A no contact order between the mother, Talisah Lee, and Jelks was put in place.
Bond for Jelks was set at $75,000. He’s due back in court March 22 for a preliminary hearing.
