The fire gutted the downtown Milwaukee church last Tuesday.
No official cause of the fire has been released but hot tools were left on the roof at the time of the fire. On Tuesday, Milwaukee's Department of Neighborhood Services confirmed that a permit was needed for the roofing work but city records show no permit on file.
