Big races in Wisconsin’s spring election Tuesday
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Earnell Lucas, the former MPD captain and current Security Supervisor for Major League Baseball, has won the Milwaukee County Sheriff race.
Lucas was up against Acting Sheriff Richard Schmidt and Richard Ostrowski. Lucas earned, 57% of the vote compared to Schmidt's 34%. Ostrowski received 9% of the vote.
Lucas, 59, is a 25 year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department. No Republicans are running for Milwaukee County Sheriff so Lucas will be the only name on the November ballot and will ultimately become the next sheriff.
Lucas will take over in January.
