Debate continues over Cedarburg family's proposal to build private pond using Cedar Creek
CBS 58 CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The debate over a body of water in Cedarburg continues as a family is looking to build a private pond on their property using Cedar Creek.
More than 3,000 people have signed a petition to prevent it from happening.
Wednesday night, people came together to voice their concerns at a town hall.
"The reason we don't want ski lakes in the town of Cedarburg is it's against the town's plan, our character, our culture, and you know there's plenty of places in Wisconsin for ski lakes, and the Town of Cedarburg isn't one of them," said Kevin Cahill, founder of Save Cedar Creek.
The Cedarburg board says the Save Cedar Creek proposal, looking to ban so-called ski lakes, will be worked on going forward, pending the application for the private pond.
