Death of West Milwaukee woman ruled homicide, suspect arrested

WEST MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman who died near 44th and Mitchell as Cheryl Jenkins.

WEST MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police say the death of a 66-year-old woman in West Milwaukee Tuesday has been determined to be a homicide.
Officers arrived at a home near 44th and Mitchell just after 8 a.m. and found the woman unresponsive with a head injury. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Milwaukee police say a known suspect, identified as a 38-year-old West Milwaukee man, was taken into custody near 16th and Canal Street in the city of Milwaukee.
An investigation is ongoing.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Officer confirms they were called to the scene of an apartment complex for the death of a 66-year-old woman.
Our CBS 58 News crew captured police tape surrounding the apartment building's back door.
"Caller woke up, found his wife on the floor not moving, not breathing," 911 audio from the incident revealed.
