RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) — Mystery and suspense are taking center stage at the Racine Theatre Guild with its upcoming production of "Angel Street (Gaslight)," running Oct. 30 through Nov. 15.

The psychological thriller follows Bella Manningham, a Victorian wife who begins questioning her sanity as strange noises, missing objects and flickering gaslights disrupt her home. As her husband insists nothing is wrong, a suspenseful story of manipulation, deception and control unfolds.

Written by Patrick Hamilton in 1938, the play inspired the award-winning 1944 film "Gaslight" and helped popularize the term "gaslighting."

Directed by Michael Clickner, the production features a local cast bringing the chilling mystery to life. The Racine Theatre Guild last staged the play in 1947.

Performances take place Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., with additional matinees on Nov. 7 and 14. Discounted value night performances are scheduled for Nov. 5 and 12 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for students, with additional discounts available for groups of 12 or more.
