Congresswoman Gwen Moore talks COVID-19, economic support during town hall
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Congresswoman Gwen Moore discussed the status of COVID-19 relief during a virtual town hall meeting Friday, Sept. 18. She was joined by members of Citizen Action of Wisconsin and supporters.
Moore discussed the vital need for health care and economic support in Wisconsin during this time of crisis.
Moore talked about how many essential workers are struggling with not being able to afford health care. She says many will not be able to get by if Republicans cut weekly unemployment funds $600 to $300.
"Republicans are arguing that that is moral hazard to give $600 a week. They want to cut it down to, some below $300, but at a minimum cut it in half," Moore said.
Moore added the disparate health and economic impact on communities of color.
