GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) — The Green Bay Packers have activated running back Josh Jacobs from exempt status, clearing the way for him to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Jacobs has returned to team activities, though the NFL's investigation into the running back remains ongoing. Additional discipline, including a possible suspension, could still be imposed.

The 28-year-old faces charges of battery and criminal damage to property, both Class A misdemeanors, in connection with an alleged May 23, 2026, incident involving his girlfriend.

Jacobs has spent two seasons with the Packers, rushing for 2,258 yards and 28 touchdowns while also recording 72 receptions.
