The family and friends of a young man shot and killed at a popular Milwaukee park came together to raise money for the costs of the funeral.
The shooting happened Monday night at the Holton Bridge Swing Park. According to Milwaukee Police, an argument between two groups of people escalated, ending in gunfire.
The victims, William Davis Jr., 17, along with a 22-year-old, died.
Those who knew Davis, planned a car wash to help his family with the untimely and unexpected death.
They're still coming to terms with the loss. “It don't seem real to me, I don't feel like it hit me yet because I didn't really expect it," said Tierney Garner.
Davis' older sister Shantia Jones told CBS 58 it touched her heart to see the support.
“It's making me so happy and even since it happened the support has been great, even at the candle light, it was so many people out there. I didn't know -- I mean I know he touched people, but when I seen it, I was like, oh my gosh, so many people."
Funeral services are planned for Saturday Aug. 17 at Rockhill Missionary Baptist Church.
