Car v semi accident on I-41 near Allenton proves fatal

A fatal car versus semi crash in Washington County closed a portion of I-41 for over seven hours Friday afternoon.   According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office the accident happened around 3:40 PM on I-41 about a mile north of Washington County Road K.   According to the on scene investigation, a northbound passenger car driven by a 37-year-old Menomonee Falls man crossed over the center median into the oncoming south bound traffic.   The car stuck the driver’s side of a semi-trailer truck, continued under the trail where it struck the tandem axle.   The driver of the car died at the scene.   The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.   The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.   The accident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.   This is the eighth traffic fatality in Washington County this year.
