Driver cited after crashing into Brookfield building with 5-year-old child in car

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Brookfield police say a driver has been cited after striking a building near Moorland and Brookfield Square Drive just before 5 a.m. Friday morning. 

Officers discovered the vehicle had been traveling south on Moorland when it left the roadway and struck a building on the southwest corner of the intersection. 

The vehicle was occupied by the driver, a 50-year-old Milwaukee woman, and a 5-year-old child. 

Police say the child was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and their injuries are not considered serious. 

The driver was cited citations for failing to keep the vehicle under control, violating child safety restraints, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
