Call for hispanic polls workers

MILWAUKEE-Mayor Tom Barrett joined other local leaders at the United Community Center Friday asking members of the community to work at polling places, especially those who speak Spanish.

They want to reduce any language barriers that might discourage people from voting November 4th.

\"I believe you don't have to give the whole day anymore,\" State Representative Jocasta Zamarripa told the crowd. \"I think you can give a shift, or a half day.  To have grass tops like you all. leaders like you all in the field on election day in a non-partisan way will be priceless.\"

They suggested that the need for bilingual poll workers is especially important now that voter i.d. has been reinstate for the election.
