Brown Deer Man Tried to Receive 18 Pounds of Marijuana
On Thursday, September 24th at approximately 1:40 PM, agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit arrested a party suspected of attempting to receive over 18 pounds of high grade marijuana that was being shipped here from California in a vehicle being transported by semi-tractor trailer.
This was a collaborative effort between several police agencies to include the Nebraska State Patrol and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigations.
The suspect was arrested in Racine County when he went to take delivery of the vehicle. The suspect, Cory S. Thompson from Brown Deer is being held at the Racine County Jail on the charge of conspiracy to possess marijuana with intent to deliver. His initial bond is set at $50,000.00.
This is yet another case of marijuana being sent to our area from states with legalized marijuana laws. High grade marijuana from these sources can sell here for as much as $400.00 per ounce. The 8550 grams seized in this case, if sold by the ounce would bring a street value of $120,000.
