MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A local company is changing its business model following the state's "Safer at Home" order amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Milwaukee Food & City Tours would usually bring people to local restaurants and bakeries, but now, with the "Safer at Home" order in effect, the company is helping local food producers make money by creating 'quarantine care packages'.

"Since we can't be bringing people to Milwaukee, we are instead bringing Milwaukee to people's front doors," Milwaukee Food & City Tours founder Theresa Nemetz said.

The company is putting together several different kits that feature local food, desserts and coffee. The kits can either be bought one at a time or through a five week subscription service.

People who buy a box will then also be given access to virtual tours of Milwaukee's neighborhoods and local vendors.

Nemetz said the local businesses were more than happy to participate.

“Everyone is trying to figure out how they can pivot their business and be able to offer something to the community and to be able to continue generating revenue to support their families and their employees," she said. "So everyone was just thrilled.”

The boxes can be bought online or over the phone. More information can be found on the company's website
