UPDATE: Body of missing man found in Lake Michigan identified

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The body of the missing man has been identified as 58-year-old Christopher Cromwell.

According to police, Cromwell left his house sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning and was walking on a path next to Lake Michigan where he would normally walk.

Cromwell fell off an icy bluff near the path into Lake Michigan.

An autopsy revealed that the death was not suspicious and likely caused by hypothermia due to the cold water.

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) – Icy conditions made it difficult for Caledonia emergency responders to recover a body along Lake Michigan.

The body was found Monday morning around 9:20 near Waters Edge Road.

Police say a family member reported the person missing Monday morning. Police have not identified the person yet or said how the person died.
