Armed robbers lead MPD on high-speed chase into Menomonee Falls

MILWAUKEE -- Several men were arrested after a string of early morning armed robberies and a chase that took Milwaukee police officers into Menomonee Falls.


According to police, the first armed robbery took place at 5:50 a.m. on the 4600 block of Villard Ave. The next armed robbery took place at 6 a.m. on the 5300 block of N. 64th St., and a third roobery took place at 6:10 a.m on the 6900 block of N. 76th St.


Milwaukee police officers spotted the black Chevrolet Suburban just after 7 a.m. on the 7500 block of W. Mill Road. Officers pulled over the vehicle and arrested the 34-year-old driver. The 24-year-old Minnesota man in the passenger seat slid over to the driver's seat and fled in the truck.


Milwaukee police officers pursued the vehicle into Menomonee Falls where the driver crashed the vehicle. The occured just before 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of Lily Road and Mill Road.


Two people inside the an were transported to a hospital after suffering non-life threatening injuries. The 24-year-old Minnesota man was arrested and taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure.


Police found the phone stolen in the N. 76th St. robbery. Officers also found a pistol and multiple cell phones believed to be acquired in previous armed robberies.
