WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) – As many holiday traditions are being changed or canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, one West Allis staple is returning as usual.

Candy Cane Lane is returning for its 35th year on Friday, November 27.

“Come by for some joy, some happiness, some wonderful lights,” MACC Fund president and CEO Becky Pinter said.

The annual holiday lights display benefits the MACC Fund which raises money for pediatric cancer and blood disorder research.

“Kids are being diagnosed every day, cancer has not stopped, pediatric cancer has not stopped, we can’t stop,” Pinter said. “We have to continue to find new ways to fundraise.”

More than 100 homes around Oklahoma and Montana Avenues and 92nd to 96th Street will be decorated for people to walk or drive by.

Candy Cane Lane is free, but donations are accepted for the MACC Fund.

“Given where we’ve been in 2020 and continue to be, it’s just a ray of light, it’s hope, there’s hope for kids, there’s hope for the future,” Pinter said.

Candy Cane Lane runs from November 27-December 27. More information can be found on the Candy Cane Lane website
