1-on-1 with James Corden: Aaron Rodgers, the Packers and a visit to Wisconsin?
LOS ANGELES, CA -- (CBS 58) British comedian James Corden debuted a new show on CBS 58 - The World's Best. It comes on the heels of his hit show “The Late Late Show with James Corden” which is now in its fourth season.
Weekend anchor Pauleen Le made a trip out to CBS Studios for a one on one interview and in the spirit of the Super Bowl - talk a little football.
Corden may be the comedian from across the pond, but Wisconsinites may be pleasantly surprised to know they have more in common with him than many would think.
“So we’ve seen you kick a football, do you know any other positions in football?” Pauleen asked. “Yeah,” Corden said. “The linemen, defensive [and] offensive linemen, they’re my favorite.”
Corden also has some love for the Green Bay Packers
“Aaron Rodgers is my favorite football player,” Corden said. “He’s the first football player I ever me and neither of us knew what each other did. He told me he played for the Green Bay Packers and I was like ‘Oh my God,’ because all my buddies at home are all Green Bay Packers fans and he’s my favorite player.”
But it just didn’t seem right that one of Aaron Rodger’s biggest fans has never visited the state that bleeds green and gold.
“Let me get this straight, he’s your favorite player and you’ve never been to Wisconsin,” Pauleen said. “Well he’s never invited me,” Corden replied.
So we decided to change that.
“Well how about this, how about I invite you, you come, we make you a cheese head, we go sing the Lavern and Shirley song and then we go to Lambeau Field and you can do the Lambeau leap,” Pauleen suggested. “Nothing would make me happier than for all of those things to happen.” Corden replied.
